John graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Brown University and M.Div. in Pastoral Divinity. John has been with Konos Academy since 2014 and the head of school over the last 10 years. John, with his wife Joanne, leads Konos Academy and also co-founded Grace Christian Academy, a classical school in NY, and served as its principal and Bible teacher until moving to Georgia in 2001. John and Joanne homeschooled all five of their children at Konos Academy.

Joanne earned a B.S. in Business Marketing from Long Island University (CW Post) and an M.B.A. from St. John’s University. Joanne worked as an underwriting and human resources manager before she and her husband John co-founded Grace Christian Academy at Merrick, NY, where Joanne researched curriculum and taught elementary English and Latin. The Lees homeschooled their five children, who have graduated from Konos Academy. Mrs. Lee coached Konos Communicators debate and speech (interpretive, platform, and limited prep) for eight years and has co-directed Konos productions since 2006.

Dale Driver
Administration: Executive Assistant to Head of School
Dale has a BS in Business Education and a Master’s of Education in Leadership and Supervision both from the University of West Georgia. Dale taught high school at Carrollton High School for four years before moving to the University of West Georgia. In his 27 years within higher education, Dale served as the Assistant to the Dean of Arts and Sciences, Director over Technology and Budget, Project Management Lead, Director of the Project Management Office, Assistant Vice-President of ITS, and Chief information Officer. Since his retirement, Dale has served at Konos Academy supporting the Head of School, overseeing the admissions and enrollment process, and supporting the IT needs of the school. He is happily and gratefully married to Monica Driver (Kidlets Co-teacher) for 34 years and has four children who have all graduated from Konos Academy.
Leah Smith
Administration: Guidance Counselor, Accreditation, & Google Classroom
Leah Smith serves as the Guidance Counselor and Administrative Assistant at Konos Academy, where she provides support in academic advising, student record management, and school operations. She ensures compliance with state graduation and accreditation standards, conducts annual audits for students in grades 9–12, and oversees HOPE/Zell eligibility and NCAA requirements. Her responsibilities include dual enrollment coordination, transcript processing, and maintaining accurate records in platforms such as FACTS and GAFutures. In addition to her counseling duties, she manages a range of administrative tasks—from scheduling and academic record keeping to supporting faculty with Google Classroom and FACTS integration. She also coordinates the President’s Volunteer Service Award program and oversees accreditation efforts with the Georgia Accrediting Commission, including documentation, record management, and inspections.
Jamie Walker
Konos Plus Director; Konos Plus Math & Science: Geometry, Precalculus, Chemistry, and Computer Science
Jamie has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an A.S. in Chemistry from Waycross College. He has been teaching math and science to high school students in the Coweta-Fayette area for over a decade. He spent 25 years as a computer programmer in the corporate world before switching to teach full-time in 2021. His love for teaching academics is fueled by a desire to direct his students to the glorious God and Savior who designed the laws and principles that govern our universe. Jamie is a homeschooling dad of three sons. His wife, Lori, teaches KK 3/4 at Konos, and his daughter-in-law Grace is a Konos Plus teacher.
Elise Barrett
KA History
Elise Barrett developed a passion for exploring and learning about the past while studying for her B.A. in History at Clayton State University. After graduating she began teaching multiple social studies classes at a University Model school before joining the KA team at Konos. Elise is married to Curtis and they live in Jonesboro with their children Amelia and Fiona. A former homeschooled student herself, Elise also homeschools her two children. When she isn’t teaching or homeschooling, Elise can be found spending time with family, reading, crafting, and volunteering in various roles with her church community.
Emily Cull
KA English, KPA Stage Manager
Emily has a B.A. in English from the University of West Georgia, and her passions include literature, writing, and the arts. Overjoyed to join the Konos family in 2023, she now loves working as a KA composition teacher and stage manager for the Konos Performing Arts program. Emily finds great joy in being part of the Konos family and hopes to encourage others and inspire them through Christ, English, and the performing arts. In addition to serving at Konos, she enjoys spending time with her family and cat, reading, writing, drinking coffee, and volunteering at her church in the choir and youth ministry. She and her husband, Luke, are excited to welcome their first child in the fall of 2025.
LaKeisha Fleming
KA English
LaKeisha has over 20 years of professional writing experience. She has written for CNN, Tyler Perry Studios, and other television shows, film projects, and online publications. LaKeisha served as a Professional-in-Residence at Washington and Lee University (W&L), where she instructed journalism classes and helped produce a film festival. She received her BA in Journalism/Mass Communications and French from W&L, and was a valuable part of the school’s television broadcast team. She is happily married to SherVin, and has homeschooled her sons for over a decade. Her oldest son is a class of 2025 Konos graduate. Her youngest son is a rising freshman at Konos. She loves reading, writing, motivational speaking, and encouraging others to be all that God created them to be.
Sarah Harris
KA English
Sarah is a 2020 Konos alumna who has since graduated from the University of West Georgia with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. During her college career, she served as an editorial intern for UWG’s undergraduate research journal. In addition to reading and writing, of course, Sarah enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and discovering new coffee shops.
Cindy Johnson
KA English
Cindy has a B.S. in Home Economics and M.S. in Housing/Education from Auburn University. As a graduate student, she taught freshman level courses at Auburn. She previously worked for the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service as a County Agent/Home Economist and at Delta Airlines before becoming a teacher at Konos Academy. Cindy is the mother of two children (both college graduates) whom she homeschooled for fifteen years. This next year will be her 16th year teaching at Konos Academy. She enjoys reading, restoring her 70 year-old home, and baking.

Ray Lewis
KA Electives, KA Chorus Director, KPA Music Director
Ray has a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University and a Master of Music (Conducting) from Samford University. Ray worked fifteen years as a music director and director of music ministries in churches and Christian schools. He then spent the next 25+ years in avionics and quality fields with Delta Air Lines and Organizational Strategies, but continued to stay in music as the accompanist at Heritage Reformed Baptist Church for over twenty years. Ray and Donna homeschooled all three of their children, and all the children attended Konos Academy before heading off to college. In addition to starting the Konos Chorus in 2018, Ray teaches several academic subjects on a rotating basis at Konos Academy.
Natalie Pinson
KA English & Classroom Manager, Plus Violin & Viola Instructor
Natalie Pinson holds a B.A. in English with a concentration in Secondary English Education and a minor in Creative Writing from the University of West Georgia. She joined Konos Academy in 2024 and currently serves as the high school classroom manager and one of the composition teachers. Passionate about both literature and the arts, she is excited to offer a beginner violin and viola class through Konos Plus, blending her love for education and music. Natalie loves being a part of Konos Academy, where Christ-centered education is the focus, and aims to encourage students to achieve excellence in academics and develop a lifelong passion for learning.
Don Rhymer
KA Bible & Literature, Plus Science: Physics
Don has a BS in Engineering Mechanics from the Air Force Academy, a MS and PhD, both in Mechanical Engineering and both from Georgia Tech. He also has an MDiv from Reformed Baptist Seminary. He spent 24 years in the Air Force as an engineer, with 12 of those years teaching Mechanical Engineering at the Academy. He has taught Bible and Literature at Konos for 2 years and Physics for 1 year. He is happily married to the Physical Science teacher and has 5 children.
Athletic Director
Don was blessed to coach Middle School Cross Country and Varsity and Middle School Track for 5 years. He has been Head Coach of Track the last 3 seasons. In 2025, he helped guide both Girls teams to be GAPPS State Champions and the Boys teams to State Runners-up before becoming the Athletic Director. He is most proud of the teams' prs, prayers for each other, and Scripture memory. He is an active member of F3Nation–a faith-based fitness group for men.
Sharon Sellers
KA Honors Literature
Dr. Sellers has a Ph.D. in American Studies from Emory University. Prior to teaching at Clayton State University for 30 years, she taught at Emory (as a graduate student) and at the University of Texas in Austin, as an undergraduate English major. She has volunteered as an Honors Literature teacher at Konos Academy since 2005.
Jennifer Tolar
KA Assistant and KA Yearbook Coordinator
Jennifer has been a part of the Konos Academy community since 2014, serving in various volunteer roles before joining the staff in 2021. Jennifer and her husband, Scott, have two Konos graduates: Nicholas, who earned a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Truett McConnell University and currently works for Christ Place Church in their counseling ministry, and Leigha, a senior at Toccoa Falls College majoring in Business Administration with double minors in Global Engagement and Bible and Theology. Jennifer has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1997 and is currently enrolled in online classes for a Business Administration degree. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with her family.
Tiffany McBryde
Konos Juniors Lead Teacher
Tiffany has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. She worked in technology and recruiting before homeschooling her four children for several years. Teaching World Geography and Cultures in Konos Juniors since 2015, Tiffany loves to invite middle schoolers to explore God’s amazing world and the beautiful tapestry of cultures within it.
Tiffany Horton
Konos Juniors Co-Teacher
Tiffany Horton has a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University. She has been teaching for many years both in private and public schools. As a wife and a mother of two children, she loves spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, teaching Jazzercise, and tutoring students in reading and math. She is excited to begin another great year of teaching English at Konos.
Elisabeth Cammell
Konos Juniors Assistant
Elisabeth is a second-generation homeschool mom of five and has taught/tutored since 1998, mainly in homeschool co-ops and hybrids, but also in public and private schools. She holds a BA in English, an MA in Education, and a California English teaching credential. She’s a longtime teacher of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) method. Her husband is a Kiwi (as well as a solo fingerstyle guitarist who teaches guitar), and they’ve lived most of their 18 years together in New Zealand. Elisabeth’s earliest homeschool memories from the 1980s were in a Konos co-op in California! In addition to her love for family, teaching, and learning, Elisabeth has a heart for worship, discipleship, and world missions, having served with YWAM and other teams globally.
Kiley Huddleston
Konos Juniors Assistant
Kiley attended Toccoa Falls College and received a degree in Middle Grades Education: Social Studies and Language Arts. She has taught in both middle and high school classrooms for a total of 12 years and is so thankful to have been able to join the amazing KJ team at Konos. She and her husband, Daniel, have two children, both of whom attend Konos. In their free time, they enjoy camping, hiking, and card games!
Gina Bledsoe
KK 5/6 Lead Teacher
Gina earned her Master of Education in Early Childhood Education, taught in public and private school for eight years, as well as homeschooled twenty years with her own children, all of whom have attended and appreciated their time at Konos. As a wife and mother of four, she loves being at home and spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, cooking, and lesson planning! Gina considers it a blessing to serve the Konos community through teaching Konos Kids and the opportunity to encourage families on their homeschool journey.
Stacy Barber
KK 5/6 Co-Teacher
Mrs. Barber has a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in English and Art from Mercer University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from LaGrange College, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. She taught English and Literacy in Fayette County Schools for 18 years and English, Science, and Math in a private school setting for two years. 2025-2026 is the beginning of her third year at Konos teaching social studies, science and writing. This year, she published her first book, a memoir that focuses on her childhood experiences growing up in Georgia! Mrs. Barber enjoys traveling, writing, painting and spending time with her husband Ronnie and her two sons and their families.
Anne Adams
KK 5/6 Teaching Assistant
Anne is currently in college at Western Governors University pursuing a degree in elementary education. Her passions include the performing arts and helping build up the future generation. She was overjoyed to join the Konos family in 2024 and now loves working as Teacher Assistant and helping with the play in KK 5/6. Anne hopes to encourage others and build them up with Christ-centered learning.
Lori Walker
KK 3/4 Lead Teacher
Mrs. Walker is thrilled to serve as a classroom teacher for KK 3/4. Lori has completed 20 years of homeschooling and has formerly served as a teacher and the co-op director of the Eagles Nest’s Explorers program. Additionally, she served on the board of Eagles Nest for eight years. Lori is married to Jamie Walker, who teaches Konos Plus classes. She enjoys reading, camping, and skiing, but she especially enjoys spending time with her family and beating them at board games. Lori is the mother of Micah, Jonas, and Joshua. Micah and Jonas have graduated from Auburn University and LSU, respectively, and are working in their degree fields. Joshua is currently pursuing his degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Included in Lori’s family are two wonderful daughters-in-law, Alyssa and Grace (also a Plus teacher), and two grandchildren, Landon and Maisie.
Margaret Bohler
Konos Kids 3/4 Co-Teacher
Margaret finds great joy in encouraging and instructing students. She has degrees in Elementary Education and Learning Disabilities from Monmouth College. She is experienced in teaching all elementary and middle grades as well as a variety of learning differences. Margaret and husband, Chris (physicist and tennis addict), loved homeschooling their own children: Zach (Kelsey) is a lead pastor and hockey nut (six children), Luc (Conner), also a pastor and music director (six children), Alix (Eddie), a virtual assistant and mom (two boys), and John Marc (Lisbeth), cyber security expert and Konos graduate. Margaret’s passion is building relationships with students to help them develop a love of learning and life-long faith in Jesus Christ. Her days at Konos make her smile- a lot!
Skyler Pollard
KK 3/4 Assistant
Skyler is a Konos alum and holds a B.A. in Biblical Counseling with a minor in Business. She currently volunteers with the high school girls’ Youth Ministry at her church and brings years of experience working with children from nannying to serving as a child specialist at City of Refuge in Atlanta. Skyler is thrilled to return to Konos and invest in the lives of third and fourth graders, building meaningful relationships and sharing the love of Christ with each student.
Abigail Cauble
Kidlets Lead Teacher
Abi, a homeschool alumna, began homeschooling her own three children 12 years ago. She and her family have benefited from the unique structure, support, and solid Christian values of Konos Academy for the past 8 years. Abi began assisting Carole Thaxton and Sheila Lee during the pilot year of Kidlets. After working in various roles, Abi is now responsible for leading all three days as the lead teacher. She finds great joy in sharing the light of the gospel with children and encouraging their love of learning. She also strongly believes in the importance of creating a safe and dynamic environment for children, along with building a cohesive team to support both children and parents on their homeschool journey.
Monica Driver
Kidlets Co-Teacher
Monica has a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and has a love for children and helping them learn. Monica and her husband Dale, homeschooled their children for twenty-four years, and all four of their children attended and graduated from Konos Academy. Her oldest daughter, Abbie, teaches high school English. Emily is a speech pathologist for a local school system. Her son, Timothy, has a degree in marketing and works at CFA Corporate and Trillith Studios. Her youngest daughter, Natalie, is attending UWG and is pursuing a degree in speech pathology. Monica has taught Kindergarten for five years in public schools, teaches Sunday School, and has directed a homeschool co-op, Morning Glory, for over 15 years. This is Monica’s fourth year working with the Kidlets program.
Ellie Moore
Konos Kidlets Assistant, Study Hall Manager
Ellie is a 2019 Konos Alumna. Since her graduation, Ellie has remained involved with Konos in various capacities. Today, Ellie is continuing her third year in the Kidlets Teachers’ Assistant role and beginning her first year as Study Hall Manager. Ellie has always appreciated the joyful, Christ-centered learning environment found at Konos and is honored to contribute to that as a staff member. In her free time, Ellie enjoys singing, getting coffee with friends, spending time outside, attending Bible study, and serving in her church’s student ministry.

Angie Bryant
Plus: Art & Design, KPA Set Design
Angie Bryant graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a focus on Art K-12. A former high school art teacher in the public school system in Mississippi and Georgia; teaching ceramics, intro to art, advanced drawing, and 3D classes. She has been designing for the Konos Performing Arts team for the last 9 years. Angie’s desire is to show that all students can learn about art, create art, explore the creative gifts that they have been given, and see they are created with a purpose: to glorify God in all they do. When not creating and designing Angie loves to spend time with her husband of 26 years and her two Konos graduates Aiden (’22) and Tristan (’25) and hang out with her mom friends and Konos community.

Kendra graduated from Georgia State University with a B.A. in Spanish Literature. Her love for the Spanish language and communication took her into the medical field where she has worked for many years as an interpreter. As a homeschool graduate herself, she has had the opportunity to teach in homeschool environments as well as in virtual classrooms. She is a lifelong learner and aficionado of all things wordy.
Nien-hwa Chin
Plus Cello Instructor & Piano Accompanist for Konos Choirs
Ms. Nien-hwa Chin is currently a concert cellist, a pianist, and a music educator. She was a certified secondary music teacher in Taiwan before coming to the US to pursue her graduate degrees. She holds masters’ degrees in cello performance, piano collaboration and music education from the Pennsylvania State University. Ms. Chin has taught in public schools, universities and her own music studio in Taiwan, the US, and US military bases in Japan for the past 25 years. She served as the music director for contemporary services for US air force chapels while stationed in Japan. In addition to music, Ms. Chin enjoys traveling, reading, cooking with her two teenage children, Joshua and Elspeth.
Marielle Hersey
Plus Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II
Marielle holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Baker University. Marielle completed her education through high school overseas in various countries. A former engineer, technical training consultant, web designer, and photography business owner, she left her career after 12 years to stay home with her three children and homeschool them through high school. She views homeschooling as a privilege and a blessing. She has taught at Konos over a decade now and enjoys watching her students work hard and thrive in math. A native of Switzerland, Marielle is fluent in four languages. She also tutors math on the side.

Jennie Lee, a Konos Academy alum, is excited to expand her position at Konos Academy as the core day operations manager, highschool biology teacher, and academic liaison for teachers and parents. Jennie received her Master of Health Science in Occupational Therapy from Augusta University (formerly The Medical College of Georgia). She has practiced as an OT for the past seven years in a pediatric outpatient setting and recently became certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner. When she isn’t at the school or clinic, you may find Jennie reading a book at her favorite coffee shop, running with her dog, or talking to friends about all things health & wellness.
Ray Lewis
KA Electives, KA Chorus Director, KPA Music Director
Ray has a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University and a Master of Music (Conducting) from Samford University. Ray worked fifteen years as a music director and director of music ministries in churches and Christian schools. He then spent the next 25+ years in avionics and quality fields with Delta Air Lines and Organizational Strategies, but continued to stay in music as the accompanist at Heritage Reformed Baptist Church for over twenty years. Ray and Donna homeschooled all three of their children, and all the children attended Konos Academy before heading off to college. In addition to starting the Konos Chorus in 2018, Ray teaches several academic subjects on a rotating basis at Konos Academy.
Evelyn Marchman
Plus Math: 6th and 7th grades
Evelyn Marchman earned her B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from Auburn University and her M.Ed. from Georgia State University. With experience teaching math at every level—from elementary to college—she is passionate about helping students discover those “aha” moments. A long-time member of the Konos community, Evelyn has seen four of her seven children graduate from Konos, with two currently enrolled in KA. She is excited to teach another group of 6th and 7th grade students and to continue investing in their growth and confidence in math.
Aquila Mouton
Plus Foreign Language: American Sign Language
With over a decade of teaching experience and a heart devoted to both education and ministry, Aquila Mouton brings a unique blend of skill, purpose, and passion to the classroom. She holds a degree in Interpreting – American Sign Language from Georgia Perimeter College and has spent the past 8+ years equipping students in both private and homeschool settings to develop a genuine appreciation for ASL and Deaf culture. Aquila has taught American Sign Language at respected educational programs where her students have consistently thrived under her engaging, interactive approach. A lifelong learner and active member of the Deaf community, Aquila participates regularly in Deaf-related events and ministry opportunities, ensuring her teaching remains both current and culturally relevant.
Kim Pollard
Plus Junior Chorus Director
Kim has served Konos as a music director for the junior and high school drama productions for several years. All seven of the Pollard children have graduated from Konos, and Kim has enjoyed immensely working with her kids’ friends and other Konos students. Recently, Kim was asked to begin a junior chorus program. She has gleaned director skills from the successful teaching of Ray Lewis, Academy chorus director, and from her Furman Singers director, Dr. Bingham Vick. Putting her 1990 degree in Music Education from Furman University to work, she has enjoyed teaching kids to read music and sing harmony together. She has been married to Mike for 33 years, and they love being surrounded by their immediate family, extended family, and church family.
Natalie Pinson
KA English & Classroom Manager, Plus Violin & Viola Instructor
Natalie Pinson holds a B.A. in English with a concentration in Secondary English Education and a minor in Creative Writing from the University of West Georgia. She joined Konos Academy in 2024 and currently serves as the high school classroom manager and one of the composition teachers. Passionate about both literature and the arts, she is excited to offer a beginner violin and viola class through Konos Plus, blending her love for education and music. Natalie loves being a part of Konos Academy, where Christ-centered education is the focus, and aims to encourage students to achieve excellence in academics and develop a lifelong passion for learning.
Dawn Rhymer
Plus Science: Physical Science
Dawn has a B.S. in Physics from the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and an M.S. in Physics from the University of New Mexico. She was in the Air Force for 5.5 years, serving as a research physicist at the Air Force Research Lab and teaching undergraduate physics at USAFA. She and her husband Don have been married for twenty-five years. Dawn is the homeschool mom of five children. One attends the United States Military Academy at West Point (Army), one attends Cedarville University, and three are in high school. She desires to help students see the beauty of God’s creation through science and admire the One who has revealed His glory in that creation.
Don Rhymer
KA Bible & Literature, Plus Science: Physics
Don has a BS in Engineering Mechanics from the Air Force Academy, a MS and PhD, both in Mechanical Engineering and both from Georgia Tech. He also has an MDiv from Reformed Baptist Seminary. He spent 24 years in the Air Force as an engineer, with 12 of those years teaching Mechanical Engineering at the Academy. He has taught Bible and Literature at Konos for 2 years and Physics for 1 year. He is happily married to the Physical Science teacher and has 5 children.
Athletic Director
Don was blessed to coach Middle School Cross Country and Varsity and Middle School Track for 5 years. He has been Head Coach of Track the last 3 seasons. In 2025, he helped guide both Girls teams to be GAPPS State Champions and the Boys teams to State Runners-up before becoming the Athletic Director. He is most proud of the teams' prs, prayers for each other, and Scripture memory. He is an active member of F3Nation–a faith-based fitness group for men.
Grace Walker

Grace is honored to begin her first year as a Konos Plus teacher and as a new Georgia resident. She received her BS in Biological Science from LSU and spent seven years working in the field of education in both Louisiana and Tennessee. She loves the outdoors and enjoys listening to podcasts and audiobooks while dabbling in various hobbies such as watercolor painting, embroidery, and sewing. Grace is married to Jonas Walker, whose parents, Lori and Jamie Walker, both teach at Konos.

Brook Culbertson
Operations Manager: Plus
As Brook enters her 17th year of homeschooling and 13th year as a Konos parent, she is grateful for the opportunity to serve Konos families and staff on Konos Plus days. Over the past decade, she has also enjoyed photographing various Konos events and capturing student portraits for the yearbook. Brook earned a BBA in Accounting from Hardin-Simmons University, where she also met and married Justin 28 years ago. Though both are native Texans, they have lived in Georgia since 2002 and have raised their family here. Their three oldest children, Cali, Carson & Katie—and son-in-law, Daniel—are all Konos alumni and their youngest, Kara, is a rising sophomore at Konos.

Shannon earned her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Indiana University in 1996. Shannon and her husband Chris graduated two boys from Konos. Shannon coordinates all events at Konos.
Ashley Franke
Communications Director
Ashley spent the first several years of her career in Communications & Marketing at a prestigious K-12 school in San Jose, CA. It had very little to do with her newly minted B.A. in Anthropology from San Jose State University, but she found a passion for bringing order to chaos and sharing stories of students and faculty to help build community. Ashley is married to Justin, and they homeschool their five children. The Franke family moved from California to Georgia in 2022 and enrolled their oldest 2 children in Konos (class of '26 & '28). The younger three are likely future Condors. Ashley is also the Konos Basketball Program Coordinator and coached MS Girls’ basketball for the team’s first two years.

Ellie is a 2019 Konos Alumna. Since her graduation, Ellie has remained involved with Konos in various capacities. Today, Ellie is continuing her third year in the Kidlets Teachers’ Assistant role and beginning her first year as Study Hall Manager. Ellie has always appreciated the joyful, Christ-centered learning environment found at Konos and is honored to contribute to that as a staff member. In her free time, Ellie enjoys singing, getting coffee with friends, spending time outside, attending Bible study, and serving in her church’s student ministry.

Brandi Bays
KPA Costume Lead
Brandi has been working on the production team at Konos for the past 3 years. She taught in the Henry County School System for 6 years before leaving that position to help run the family business and homeschool her children. Her two oldest daughters graduated from Konos in 2025, and are attending Young Harris College to pursue musical theater degrees. Her youngest son is in Konos Kids. Brandi started sewing and making clothes as a hobby over 15 years ago. It quickly became an outreach for her, as she helped make costumes for local dance studios and theater programs. She loves getting to be creative and helping bring our productions to the stage!

Overjoyed to join the Konos family in 2023, she now loves working as a KA composition teacher and stage manager for the Konos Performing Arts program. Emily finds great joy in being part of the Konos family and hopes to encourage others and inspire them through Christ, English, and the performing arts. In addition to serving at Konos, she enjoys spending time with her family and cat, reading, writing, drinking coffee, and volunteering at her church in the choir and youth ministry. She and her husband, Luke, are excited to welcome their first child in the fall of 2025.

Lauren Lundberg
KPA Music Director, KPA Director for KK 5/6
Lauren Lundberg has a Bachelor of Music Education and has been teaching choirs, classes, and private piano and voice for 25 years. She founded the Performing Arts Department for Eagle’s Nest Homeschool group in 2020 and has since then directed musicals, plays, and drama classes. Lauren joined the Konos team in August 2022 as Musical Director for Konos Junior shows. She took on directing the KK 5/6 show in spring of 2025.
Savannah Pollard
KPA Assistant Director & Music Director
Savannah graduated from Clayton State University in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Growing up in the Konos co-op groups to then attending as a full time student in the 5th grade until highschool completion, the heartbeat and values of Konos have blessed her for as long as she remembers. After college, she returned to Konos as an acting and music coach in 2019 and has been serving in the theater department ever since. Savannah is married to James Pollard, her childhood sweetheart, and they live in Tyrone, GA. Savannah is most happy when she is having a deep conversation about the Lord, being with her family and friends, and making a difference through music and the arts.

Jerrod Royster
KPA Choreographer
Jerrod has been living in the South Metro Atlanta area since 2011. He has been a professional dancer and actor since 2006 and a full-time dance educator since 2014. He trained at Central Florida Ballet in Orlando, FL and Huntsville Ballet in Huntsville, AL. Jerrod has performed all over the world including Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disney Channel, and Disney Cruise Lines. He has choreographed many local events and past Konos productions since 2019 and can’t wait to continue to choreograph more. When he’s not dancing, he loves fitness, game nights, and going to theme parks. Jerrod gives God all the glory, praise, and honor to be able to use his gifts and talents with the Konos family!

Assistant Athletic Director & Head Coach: Track
Jay received his bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and recently retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 25 years of service. Jay and Kimberly have been married for 24 years and have homeschooled their two children since kindergarten. Both children have attended Konos for several years. Over the years, Jay has served the church in multiple capacities, enjoying his time as an elder, small group leader, and parenting/marriage counselor. The Raymond family loves exploring science through the lens of God’s creation, staying active with their German Shorthaired Pointer, and often plans vacations around hiking, biking, and running! Jay has also enjoyed coaching Konos Cross Country and Track for the last three years and desires to help athletes develop a lifelong love of running, fitness, and grit.

Danielle Betta
Head Coach: Juniors Cross Country
Coach Danielle Betta has been running alongside her own kids for over 13 years and coaching cross country for the past three years. She seeks to bring a Christ-centered approach to coaching, encouraging young athletes to have fun, do hard things, and persevere—both in running and in life. Her goal is to help each runner grow in confidence, character, and faith using their gifts to glorify God. Coach Betta is grateful to be a part of the supportive and encouraging Konos coaching team. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, hiking, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with her husband, Sean, their seven children, family and friends.
Christy Chambers
Head Coach: MS Girls' Soccer
Christy jumped in to meet the need for a MS Girls Soccer coach in 2025. She loves the game of soccer, especially how it gives opportunities for players to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. In college, she had the privilege to be a captain for three years, two of those being at Bryan College. The lessons she learned on the field about leadership, teamwork, personal goals, and determination prepared her for future opportunities. She longs to cultivate a similar experience for each of her players. Christy is married to her husband, Steven, who currently coaches the Varsity Boys Soccer team. Christy homeschools her four children, volunteers at church, and leads Aretē Enrichment Academy. Her greatest joy in life is spending time with her family and investing in other people's lives, especially the next generation on and off the field.
Steven Chambers
Head Coach: Varsity Boys' Soccer
Throughout childhood, Steven actively participated youth sports and eventually high school and collegiate athletics. As a captain of his varsity football team and two-year varsity letterman on the Bryan College cross country team, Steven has consistently enjoyed playing ball while leading others to do their best. As an adult, Steven has coached youth basketball, soccer, and baseball, and most recently coached the Konos boys' varsity team. Steven's commitment to making a positive impact on young people is anchored in his relationship with Christ. Along with coaching, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and serves as one of the pastors at Woolsey Baptist Church.
Russ Jackson
Head Coach: Girls' Flag Football
While new to coaching flag football, Russ has played many seasons and loves the sport! He brings multiple years of experience coaching girls' softball. For him, coaching is a powerful environment where young athletes can cultivate Christ-like character through diligence, navigating adversity, teamwork, and selflessness. Seeing people grow and develop is a point of passion and great fulfillment for Russ. Outside of coaching, he's a devoted husband and father to four daughters, and he's served at the Chick-fil-A Support Center for 19 years.
Micah Knapp
Head Coach: Junior Varsity Boys' Basketball
Micah is now entering his eighth year with the Konos basketball program: his first 5 as a player, the next two as an assistant coach, and now as the Head JV Coach. Having himself experienced personal growth through the Konos basketball program, he is passionate about it being a place of leadership development and discipleship for young men. He loves basketball and desires to see it played as a team with everyone participating to their fullest in their specific roles. Outside of basketball, he loves spending time with friends and family, competition of any sort, and investing in his church.
Seth Knapp
Head Coach: Varsity Boys' Basketball
Now entering his fourth year of coaching, Seth brings a wealth of experience and passion to our program. He has successfully coached at every level, most notably leading a middle school team to back-to-back state playoff appearances. Coach Seth is deeply committed to developing disciplined young men both on and off the court. His greatest desire is to see God glorified through the lives of these student-athletes and the game of basketball itself. His leadership is rooted in character, integrity, and a clear vision for how sports can shape lives in powerful ways. Off the court, Seth enjoys spending time with his wife and their baby girl, cherishing the moments of family life that fuel his passion for mentorship and growth.
Ross O'Hair
Head Coach: Varsity Girls' Soccer
Entering his seventh season at Konos, Ross brings seasoned expertise and heartfelt dedication to the girls' varsity soccer program. After four years as the varsity girls assistant coach, Ross has spent the past two seasons leading the program as head coach. He has built on the team's long-running success, guiding them to new levels of growth. A former collegiate player at Trinity International University, Ross pairs his successful playing career with 12 years of coaching to help his athletes grow in both skill and character. More importantly, he wants each player to know their identity and worth in Christ, believing that this foundation allows them to grow in their relationship with God and play with passion and confidence. Outside of soccer, Ross enjoys spending time with his family and serves as a discipleship counselor in the Newnan area.
Steve Panter
Head Coach: MS Girls' Basketball
Steve is no stranger to the court. While this is just Steve’s third year as MS Girls’ Basketball Coach, Steve has spent many years playing and coaching basketball. Steve played basketball throughout middle and high school and went on to play college ball at Atlanta Christian College. Coaching began for Steve with middle and high school boys in rec ball as well as coaching for the GA Tarheels, an AAU travel ball organization. Steve is a huge advocate for sports at all levels, as they teach about hard work, putting others first, and learning real-life lessons. Off the court, Steve is a small business owner, husband, and father of four. He loves spending time with his family and making memories together.

Ali Patrick began running in 8th grade and has completed three marathons and numerous half marathons. She is the wife of Adam and mom of two. Ali has been part of the Konos Cross Country program for three years and now serves as head coach for the middle school team. Passionate about helping students grow in both endurance and faith, she encourages her athletes to run with purpose—toward Christ first—through gospel-centered coaching, discipline, and encouragement.
Ward Pettenger
Head Coach: Varsity Cross Country
Ward has been the Konos Varsity XC coach for the past 2 seasons and has also coached MS and HS distance for the Track program. He developed a love for running as a child and has kept doing it throughout his adult life. He has raced in over 20 ultramarathons over the past 10 years. He has an MBA from Kennesaw State and works as a Financial Controller. He and his wife, Shannon, have been married nearly 30 years and have 2 adult children that were homeschooled for their entire education. He has coached various Upward sports in church and led the 3–4-year-old Sunday School class. He loves to see kids develop a love for running and nothing makes him happier than seeing his athletes accomplish their goals and glorify God while doing it.
Jan Rubado
Head Coach: Varsity Girls' Basketball
It has been Jan’s honor to assist in launching and growing Konos Girls’ Basketball Varsity and Middle School programs. Jan is entering her sixth season as Varsity Head Coach with the Lady Condors making three trips to state championships and earning one state title. Jan played multiple sports throughout her high school career and played basketball at the collegiate level. After college, Jan taught two years in Thailand and worked another nine years in India with her husband, Steve, and three daughters. Throughout Jan’s career, she has been passionate about healthy leadership and teams. She works with the Lead Like Jesus organization alongside her husband as well as homeschools her younger two daughters who are in their high school years.
Jordan White
Head Coach: Girls' Volleyball (MS & Varsity)
Coach Jordan has played club volleyball since she was 13. After high school, she played as a middle/right side at Western Michigan University, then transferred her Junior year to Portland State University. Jordan's athletic skills earned her a full ride to WMU and Portland State as a volleyball player. She played and elevated past all of her own expectations by finishing her college career ranked 9th in the country for blocks per set as a middle. She was on track to playing overseas until her career ended with a shoulder injury. When she finished school, she came home to start her coaching and training career. Jordan has spent the past 5 years shadowing and learning from her fitness mentors and coaching mentors. She has gone to USAV nationals 3 out of the past 5 years. She is also a certified personal trainer with years of experience training athletes.
Gary Wood
Head Coach: Varsity and Middle School Golf
Gary is passionate about developing youth boys and girls to love the game of golf and to love Jesus. Gary began the Konos Academy Golf program 7 years ago. His teams have qualified to play in the GAPPS State Tournament every year, including State Runner-Up finishes in both Varsity (4) and Middle School (3). The 2025 Varsity team set the school record (34-1), missing out on the State Championship title by a single shot. Three former Condor golfers have gone on to play at the Collegiate level. Off the course, Gary and wife (Becky) enjoy the beach and travelling, and have 2 sons and 5 grandkids.
Ashley Franke
Basketball Program Coordinator
After 2 years as a cheering parent for MS Boys' Basketball and 1 year coaching MS Girls’ Basketball, Ashley began as our Basketball Program Coordinator in the 24-25 season. A year of both coaching and coordinating while homeschooling the youngest 3 of her 5 children helped Ashley realize she needs to only coordinate for now. She enjoys being a liaison between coaches and parents, helping to communicate schedules and needs while also trying to build up the great community found in Konos Basketball! Ashley is also responsible for all things GoFan, our online ticketing partner. Go Condors!
Corrie Kirk
Program Coordinator for XC & Track
After 2 years of having her family participate in Konos Cross Country, Corrie began volunteering for more and more roles. When Athletics began using Program Coordinators, Corrie was chosen. During the 2024-25 school year, she served as Program Coordinator for both Cross Country and Track & Field, putting her background in event planning to good use. She homeschools her three kids who each participate in Konos Athletics. She enjoys getting to know each family as she serves as the liaison between both the coaches and parents, assisting in communication of schedules and supporting the incredible community found within our Cross Country and Track teams! Go Condors!
Mandi Morrow
Program Coordinator, Volleyball
Married to Jonathan Morrow with three children: Austin (college student), Sarah Beth (12th grade), Madison (7th grade). We have homeschooled for 13 years but have been a Konos Core family for 3 years. We love volleyball, and that is how we were introduced to Konos! Sarah Beth has played on the Konos Volleyball team since 8th grade, and this is Madison's second year playing on the Middle School team. Last year, both girls also played Konos Soccer for the first time. We love both the academics and athletics at Konos, as it has greatly enriched our homeschool experience and has provided good community with other families.
Amy Waddell
Program Coordinator, Soccer & Flag Football
Having supported her family from the sidelines for many years including with Konos since 2019, Amy was thrilled to step into the role of program coordinator. Witnessing how moments and conversations on and off the field foster opportunities for both physical and spiritual growth, Amy is genuinely grateful to be a part of Konos Athletics with the focus on honoring Christ in the interactions with students. As the program coordinator for both soccer and flag football, Amy enjoys helping with communications, hosting games, and mostly sharing in fellowship with other families. She met her husband, Chris, at Auburn University, married in 2002, and has since been entrusted with 5 children. Please make sure to say ‘hi’ to her or any of the Waddells whenever you see them at a Konos Athletics event!
Craig Jeffery
Board Member
Craig and Sue’s children have attended or graduated from Konos since 2003. He is the Chair of the Finance Committee and has been a board member since 2016. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, is a permanent Certified Cash Manager (AFP), and author of The Strategic Treasurer: A Partnership for Corporate Growth published by Wiley & Sons. He is the managing partner of Strategic Treasurer, a research and consulting firm in Peachtree City, and is the host of the Treasury Update Podcast. He is an elder at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church.
Becky Rast
Board Member
Becky Rast graduated from the University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts in English. While homeschooling her own children, Becky co-founded Veritas Classical School as a way to give classroom experience to homeschooled children. She taught there for several years before joining Konos, creating and teaching in the Konos Kids and Juniors programs. She is thankful that, even though retired from teaching, she can remain involved with Konos, a school that provides a comprehensive and Christ-focused education.
Carole Thaxton
Founder & Board Member
Carole Thaxton received her B.A. in biology/chemistry at Beaver College (now Arcadia University) and M.S. in counseling at Syracuse University. After years of counseling, she met Charles at L’Abri, married, and had children. They resolved to teach them according to the Konos model, incorporating subjects within a character development framework. Their Konos Academy home school led to Carole writing curriculum. The Thaxton family resided in Prague for six years where she developed the Konos Academy of Prague. In 2001, the Thaxtons moved to Fayetteville, GA, and began Konos Academy. She loves nature, art, historical fiction, people (especially her grandchildren), and God (not in that order!).
Charles Thaxton
Founder & Board Member
Charles Thaxton received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University. He completed two post-doctoral programs at Harvard University and Brandeis University. As author/co-author of The Mystery of Life’s Origin, The Soul of Science, and A Leg to Stand On, he has lectured widely in American universities and outside the country (Korea, Russia, Mongolia, Romania, Poland, Hungary, and the former Czechoslovakia).
He and his wife Carole homeschooled two sons, both of whom are college graduates. He is a survivor of two bouts of cancer, which left him with one leg and one lung. He and his wife founded the Konos Academy where he taught for several years before recently retiring. Now he enjoys his grandkids, the Braves (especially when they’re winning), discussions about politics, and reading history.
