The purpose for this event is to fundraise for a new multi-use facility that will provide 19 classrooms and an auditorium /gymnasium.

Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., most recently served as the 17th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. For nearly 30 years, Secretary Carson served as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, a position he assumed when he was just 33 years old, becoming the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history. Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., is Founder and Chairman of the American Cornerstone Institute, a new think tank / do tank whose mission is to promote the 4 founding principles which are cornerstones of our country: faith, liberty, community and life as well as pursue common sense solutions that challenge conventional groupthink.

At the gala, you will enjoy a live auction with our auctioneer and emcee, Daron Meares. All live auction items will be announced in early March and are visible on the Konos Gala auction site. Live auction items will include trips, events, experiences, and other exciting items.
Online Auction
For those who attend and for those who are unable to attend the Konos Gala, an online auction will begin on Saturday, April 13, 2024 and run until 7:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Participants can register for the silent auction on the Konos Gala auction site in March 2024.

Volunteer with us!
The Konos Gala will be a rewarding experience in which individuals in the Konos community can take part. Listed here are the five teams of volunteers. Please click the team you are interested in for more details and sign-up for the role/job you would like to contribute your time.

Join our team and be part of something amazing!

Event Team
Responsible for all logistics associated with hosting the event at the venue, for catering, event activities, and DJ services; working with suppliers to support the event (florists, deserts, etc.); support the auction team, liaising with guest speaker, and responsible for decorations, signage, & event space organization.
Sponsorship Team
Responsible for soliciting sponsorship to the event; develop relationships with the sponsors; liaising with sponsors to ensure ease of participation at the event; coordinate with other teams to deliver sponsorship benefits package; ensure acquisition of sponsorship funds; and work with marketing team to develop appropriate marketing materials for engaging sponsors.
Auction Team
Responsible for soliciting and acquiring auction items for the event; work directly with auctioneer to define, promote, and price auction items; work with Auxiliary Team to acquire Konos class auction projects, baskets, and door prizes; deliver awarded auction certificates/items to successful bidders; and write thank you notes to auction donators.
Marketing Team
Responsible for developing event logos; develop marketing materials to promote the event (flyers, banners, etc.); develop tools/materials needed to support the Sponsorship and Auction Teams; develop event logos; manage social media communication; develop promotional videos; and provide photography at the event.
Class Project Team
Facilitate communication between the Auction Team, classroom teachers and parents; encourage parent and student involvement, coordinate and organize a class project/basket to be auctioned off in the live and silent auctions; request/coordinate door prize donations from Konos class parents.
